Volunteers Make A Difference!
As a non-profit organization Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council depends on volunteers to keep it going. Its board of directors is composed of volunteers as is the majority of its administrative and clerical staff. Interested in helping us make our mountain more fire safe? Here are some ways you can help! Join us now to make a difference!
Smokey Bear Team
Smokey Bear is soooo popular! He gets invited to a lot of special events, parades, schools and community meetings. It takes at least two people to ensure that Smokey can make all his appearances. At parades, Smokey usually catches a ride on the USDA Forest Service or CAL FIRE engines, but sometimes he's lucky and gets to travel in the USDA Forest Service's original 1924 Model T Ford Patrol vehicle!
Sparky the Fire Dog Team
Sparky the Fire Dog loves parades and community events. He can move in all directions, shake his head and even talk! A minimum of two people work together to keep Sparky active across the mountain. A great way to share info on fire prevention for kids and adults alike!
Community Events Team
Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council's goal is to share information about fire prevention and preparedness. What better way to do that than to participate in various special events across the Rim Communities! From the Running Springs Farmers' Market to the annual Pine Cone Festival, from school events to Community Meetings, or hosting a free Document Shredding Event, staffing a booth with information to share is a great way to help the mountain be more fire safe while getting to meet some of our mountain neighbors and first responders!
